The coup in Myanmar

The coup in Myanmar began when President Win Mynt, Aung San Suu Kyi and other senior members of the National League for Democracy were detained on February 2, 2021. The detentions came after the increase of tension between the civilian government and the military a few days earlier. The military has made accusation of electoral fraud in November 2020.
Currently, the coup incident has caused tens of thousands of citizens to take to the streets protesting againts the military coup. Television signals drop across the country, as well as telephone and internet access during the coup.
Reuters said this was the biggest demonstration in Myanmar since the Saffron Revolution led by Buddhist monks in 2007.
