Humanitarian Relief in Mindanao, Philippines: SEAHUM Members Deliver Emergency Assistance to 1,799 Beneficiaries

Mindanao, Philippines – The Southeast Asia Humanitarian Committee (SEAHUM), together with its member organisations MyCARE, Rumah Zakat, and DMC Dompet Dhuafa, successfully conducted a humanitarian relief mission in Malapatan and Batulaki, Sarangani Province, Philippines, providing emergency assistance to communities affected by the recent disaster.

The joint humanitarian response was carried out to address the immediate needs of affected families by providing essential relief items that support survival and early recovery. Through the collective commitment of the three organisations, humanitarian assistance consisting of Food Packages, Family Kits, and Tents was distributed to vulnerable households in the affected communities.

In total, 257 households, equivalent to 1,799 beneficiaries, received assistance through this collaborative initiative. The food packages helped families secure their daily nutritional needs during the emergency period, while family kits provided essential household items to support daily living. In addition, tents were distributed to families whose homes had been damaged, offering temporary shelter and a safer living space while recovery efforts continue.

The distribution was made possible through close coordination with local partners and community representatives, ensuring that assistance reached the families most in need in both Malapatan and Batulaki. Despite logistical challenges and difficult road conditions in some areas, the humanitarian teams remained committed to delivering aid promptly and efficiently.

This humanitarian mission reflects the strength of regional cooperation and solidarity among humanitarian organisations across Southeast Asia. By combining resources, expertise, and operational capacity, SEAHUM and its member organisations provided timely, coordinated, and impactful assistance to disaster-affected communities.
