Training of SPHERE Standards in Malaysia

July 15-17, 2025, is an important moment in strengthening the capacity of humanitarian actors through SPHERE training in Malaysia. SPHERE is an international standard designed to improve the quality and accountability of humanitarian response.

SEAHUM is collaborating with the Human Initiative Institute, Human Initiative and MyCARE to conduct this training, which provides a global guideline to ensure that all humanitarian actions are carried out fairly, humanely, and accountably.

Participants will learn the fundamental principles of humanitarianism and human rights and delve into minimum standards in critical sectors such as water, sanitation, food, shelter, and healthcare. Interactive discussions, case study simulations, and field experiences serve as practical learning tools.

The training is not only about knowledge transfer, but also provides a space for reflection: How can we ensure that every humanitarian intervention respects human dignity and is inclusive, based on real needs on the ground?

Behind every number and report are people in need of our help, and SPHERE reminds us to help them the right way.
